well i got a new battery for the 1225 an freash gas and it smokes ALOT... at frist the hydros didnt want to work so i started it up and un screwed the filter to let the air come out an as soon as i did that the hydros came to life, from what me anf my dad can see is theres alot of dirt conpacted in the cooling fins so i think someone over heated it and cooked the oil rings. when i took the head bolts out there was alot of oil on them so thats another sign so shes ready for a rebuild... i put some lucus motor oil treament in it an that helped but thats not going to last

Nice original tractor. Even though is smokes, you still have a nice solid tractor that can be brought back to life.

Yeah, good tractor you found there and an excellent restoration candidate.  I'm actually kind of surprised at how well those tires hold their shape with no air in them though!  They are only slightly flat on the bottom where the rubber meets the road.  They weren't filled with liquid or sand or anything else, were they?

Nice find. It's always nice to see a well taken care of tractor in its original work clothes.
