i am more of a ford or dodge guy but there are still a lot of those old chevys on the road! Seems like they wont quit.
I was looking for a 78 Ford.. I did find a early 80's dodge but he thought it was gold.. wanted 4500 for it.. same shape as this Chevy..

The truck looks pretty good to me especially for $500. How is the interior?

This ole yeller truck is replacing my 2011 cummins..
In my opinion you upgraded. That Chevy really looks good for an '81. Only bad thing about it is the auto. That would have the solid front axle with leaf springs, correct?

Yup solid axle leaf spring front.. I need a auto.. I have a health issue that makes driving a standard very unsafe.. So that th350 is a good thing as they are tough..

I do not see the auto as a disadvantage at all, more of an asset . There are still a lot of "Those Beaters with Heaters" pushing snow around here. The Auto holds up a lot better for snow pushing. On those windy days as I run up and down my 1/4 mle lane on the Ford 1500, I often wish for a" Beater with a Heater".

Hey TG, you gonna name her " Tweety Bird " ? Now I see what you mean about the color..... maybe mix in some JD green.....

Dude, you got a killer deal for 500 especially if running/driving, 4x4 on top of that. 2 of the best trucks my dad or I ever had was a '76 Chevy 3/4 ton 2x4 and '86 Chevy 3/4 Ton 2x4. That one would make a great restore then add a 4" lift and some 35's...oh yea baby!!! GM's were actually a little nicer than the Chevy's too. Great deal overall.

In time it will get all done.. just no lift .. It needs to stay this height..
180.. I should paint the center of the side panels JD green
