Rooting around in one of the out bldgs at the farm that was there before My Parent's bought the place.  Back in the corner of the loft was a windshield and back glass.  Intact and all by itself, I never paid much attention to it.

Today, I crawled back in, and it has written on it "55 Chevy".

My question is what to do with them.  I am sure someone would be interested... but where to list it other than epay / CL as a local pickup only.

I know the obvious, do CL & be done with it.   But, If a Chevy guy had a odd/rare/old GT part, I'm sure they would appreciate a nudge towards some people interested in tractors...  Anyone have any suggestions?

Craigslist would be the way to go IMO. People who are restoring cars, trucks, hell anything, look there along with Feebay. And with the websites like search tempest, people outside of your area will be able to find it. Websites like Uship can help transport and you're good to go.

I agree...CL, or maybe check around and see who in your area might be a street rodder...they would know who needs the glass, or could put the info out there for you.

Well, I must congratulate you on the worst photo of all time!

If I were you I would sell that on Hemings Motor news.

Shipping may be a big issue. But, I can't tell from that photo if it is a front windshield or a rear windshield?

I would think you'd get the best buck, if you listed it on a Chevy resto site.

I don't know of any, but they've gotta be out there.

I would see if there is a busy 55 chevy forum out there and possibly list it there first before trying craigslist.

Like Titus suggested giving it a shot on tempest.com, no cost at all to your, a wider area than Craaigslist. What have you got to lose.

I did a quick search and was a little surprised at the cost of a new one, as little as 250.00.

Considering you don't know what '55 it's for ask around local, and maybe someone with more knowledge will know what you got, or just list it as

" Vintage, super rare 1955 Chevy windshield and rear glass"

was only used on Sundays, hurry lost my storage, my lost, your gain $200 each or 350.00 for both cash only,

P.S. Will trade for JD 318 tractor :D

If the windshield has any cloudyness around the outside I'd just pitch it. You can get windshields pretty cheap for them.

I think the first thing you should do is get them out where you can clean them up to see what you actually got. If they're in good shape with the original writing/numbers in the glass they'll be worth something. Then are they for a car or pickup? The windshields are close to the same in the style of them.

If those are original glass they will have a date code etched in the corners. That may add to the value.

It's soon car show/cruise season. Attend one and ask around the 55 Chevys. If they don't need it, they might know someone who does.
