I have a Sears 917-8400 lawnmower with an engine model no. 143.546042.  I know this is a Tecumseh engine but am unable to identify the engine by the various lists of engine cross-reference I have seen published on this site and others.  Can anyone tell me where I may can cross this engine so I can find out exactly what I am dealing with????

Thanks,  NON

I believe it's a H60.

I'll keep checking.

Thanks for the info.  Thought it was one of the H's but couldn't cross number to know which one.

Thanks again.

The way I did it was to find the model number on Searspartsderect, and then cross the piston and crank to other parts sites. The piston was used in a couple of different motors, but the crank was used in just the H60.
