Where do people come up with the year of there tractors, here is a Bolens 1050 that is listed as a 1979.The other day I found a Bolens 1050 that was listed as a 1958.Just wondering,I mean if they don't know then why not leave the year out.

That 58 is likely a typo..........or, he doesnt know what hes talking about.....lol

Only real way is to look up the serial numbers.

Yes it could be a typo ,but if they are guessing ,then they should at least guess within the years that a model was actually built.I have seen ,and I'm sure I'm not the only one, lots of other examples of this where the years aren't even anywhere near being right.
Sorry, it just bugs me.

I have also seen my fair share of Bolens that were listed with the wrong years.
Like you said, If you don't know the year just leave it out! :wallbanging:

If I had ten bucks for every Seller who hasn't a clue about what it is he's selling, I'd be a lot better off financially. I've come across ads for Case garden tractors that show the year to be one in which Case NEVER even made a garden tractor. And that's just one of many errors about these tractors that I see constantly.

To even compound it further, I've contacted these people with the correct information about their tractor and they've come back with a hostile reply. Now... I don't bother.
