I finally got a second diesel. Both are 1572s with one being a 982D clone. I call them the BRS(Big Red Smoker) and BYS(Big Yellow Smoker). They are 36 serial numbers apart.

Is a 1572 the same physical size as a 982D?

I wonder why they never actually built a 982D... Are the frames on the supers the same as the the standards but just longer? or are they thicker material?

The 982 is a super only with a gas engine and no power steering. My 982D is a 1572 painted to be a 982D custom. Supers are 9" longer than standard cubs and come with 26-12-12 tires, a different pump, power steering and dual brakes and dual hydraulics. I got hooked on.supers when I bought a 2284. Right now I have 3 supers. Im building a 2072 to be a 982G custom twin to my 982D. Once you go super you never go back lol
