I picked up a used k341 today and out of curiosity tried to look up the spec number, just to see what it originally came out of and what may be different about it....I cant seem to find a website anywhere that would give a breakdown of the spec numbers. Am I not looking in the right place or is that info saved for engine dealers? The number is 71167a

Thanks guys, I guess more specifically my question is... Is there a master list somewhere that anyone can print off that lists variations or do the spec numbers have a break down? Does each individual number stand for a different alteration? As in First digit=crank, second digit=oil pan, third digit=governor, etc. Or is each different engine with alterations get a complete spec number? Sorry if these seem really basic just trying to get a better understanding of it...

The Spec#'s are brand/application specific.  I don't have a listing of them but here's the next best thing:  Kohler K-Series Serv Manual

Very good question....I totally understand what you are asking....However, I don't have the answer.

Cat385B seems to have the best advise.....INTERNET.....What did we do before we had computers & internet....Oh, I remember we used those...uh....ummmm, oh yeah, encyclopedias!
