i just picked up a mf 10 from the scrap yard a while ago i started to strip it down and get it running i put what i think is a charged battery in it turn the key and all it dose is click kinda loud from the relay. is the battery dead or the relay junk thanks for any help

That's a tough question to answer. Is the engine locked up? Get a meter out and start checking voltages.

Do you have a multimeter?
1) If so, measure the voltage at the battery & then at solenoid wire coming from the key (small lug) & then at each of the large lugs of the solenoid, & then at the starter with the key in "start". They should all be 12 to 13 volt DC. If not work from one end to the other until you find out where it drops.
2) You can check the solenoid contactors by disconnect the wires from the large lugs and measure the resistance across them. It should be 0 to 5 ohms in "start" & infinite at all other times. [fail = bad solenoid]
3) You can also measure the voltage between the large lugs when the key is turned to "start". You should not get more than 1 volt DC.
Hope that gets you started.
