I'm wiring it back up today, but somebody has cut the white wire off the "ignition interlock" module:

Any one out there have one?  Part #AM34938,  used on 56/57 JD RER's.

This is part of the safety switch system & I prefer to have them working when I'll have the mower at tractor shows!  ~~  Lowell

The steering wheel & "leaping deer" decals are on order, need one new front tube & refurbish the deck yet.  ~~  Lowell

Very nice work, Lowell. My parents had one of those when I was young, the darn thing never ran right though. Dad wasn't much of a carb guy, and passed that trait down to me. It cut nice when it was running, but the maneuverability was poor compared to our other two machines; the three-wheeled 32" cut Big Mows. Our next door neighbor had the comparable Ariens RER of that period, and always put down the green and yellow. He was always the jealous type, anyway.

Thanks for sharing.

That looks very nice, Lowell. Did you find the module or is that something you have to order?

I started on the 56 deck.  The front had been gouged & the top rounded edge had "swiss cheese" syndrome.  I cheated on this one, since this deck will only be used for shows.  I cleaned it up, taped over the holes on the outside & laid a layer of fiberglass cloth on the inside.  Then pulled the tape off & used fiberglass reinforced body putty on the outside.  Still some more sanding to do before painting.  Sorry, no pics today!  ~~  Lowell
