I just went thru all my PM's from the last 2 years, doing a weed out.  My Mailbox had reached critical mass and I NEEDED to weed them before someone tried to get a hold of me & couldn't.

It took me just over an hour to read a bunch of posts from friends, had a bunch of smiles and recollections from the last 2 years.

I had PM's from now very active members trying to make their first post, and from friends we don't hear much from any more.

If anyone sees I deleted a PM from them, please don't take it personally, I had to get rid of a lot of stuff I'd rather have kept. :D

I enjoyed my trip down memory lane this morning, now to get back into the present.

So, to quote Bob Hope...

Here's to many more. :beerchug:

On one of the forums I belong to you can archive your PM's into a CSV file on your computer and then it clears them out for you.  That way you don't loose any you would like to keep.  I just checked our PM manager and I don't see where you can do that.  Might be a good feature for the software company to add.

I emptied my inbox last summer, and again a few weeks ago; both times it was near full and I wanted to empty it for the same reason as you. I made an archive folder where I can keep messages that have important information.

What's really fun is when you have the large site supporter PM capacity and then you let your site supporter status expire.  I had that at the "other" gt forum recently.  Amazingly their software didn't automatically dump them but when I logged on for the first time in months, it made be spend some quality time weeding through everything.
