I found this old 1962 Wheel Horse Model #702 behind an old garage. I drove by and happened to see part of the rear tires and fenders sticking out behind the garage. I stopped at the house and a elderly woman came to the door. I asked about the old tractor back there and she said it was junk and she'd like to sell it! We went back and looked at it and she said $20.00 and I could haul it out of here! Uhhh, ok then, I'd take it for $20.00. The trans was locked up pretty tight, so I had to drag it into my van. I didn't have any ramps with me so I just lifted it up into the van. The lady said I must be pretty strong to lift that old thing! I just smiled and thanked her and took off down the road! Not a bad day!

Here's some more pics of it. I don't know what happened to the other pic. I added some new front tires on it.  KJ

Geez....you did great! :dancingbanana:  The starter belt shield is worth more than you paid!  Trans will likely be ok with a little TLC.

Great find! We don't see these types of things in heavy populated areas.  Good luck with it.

Congratulations on a great find. Did you ask if she had the manual? She might not have thought about it. Drain that transmission soon because they often get water in them. Good Luck, Rick

I have no idea where his pic went, but it was there, as that was why I commented on the starter belt cover alone being worth what he paid.

Yep, and hood had been spray painted, with everything else original paint.  Yep, flatter than flat LF!
