Just rode down to the Western Auto to buy a recoil starter spring for the RUGG. Came home with a "tiller" steer Simplicity. The data plate# is 8032. Anybody have any idea what year and what size engine this thing is supposed to have? That's the only thing that's missing. Rear engine horizontal shaft.

Wait! Still  have Western Auto store near you???  Thought they went out years ago.  Were hardware and car parts long ago as I recall.  They must be more like other chains now then, like Auto Zones???  Interesting.

This is a real "Western Auto". They still service and repair lawn equipment and even stock a bunch of parts for them. The old man says he's been there for 60 years.

They went so far as to dig through their old stash of carbs to find me a float for my Kohler.

Wow...I thought Western Auto went out years ago also!  Good to hear they still exist.  When I was a youngin, that was my favorite store.  They had me covered from sporting goods to small engine parts.

We have a local store everyone calls western auto but it isn't a true one and doesn't near what the western auto had as I remember.  Like everyone else I thought they went under years ago.  They sound like a lawn mower shop we have here, they will go out of their way to help you get the part you need.

Looking forward to the pic's.

It's a "Wonder Boy" 575 as near as I can tell. Somewhere between 1956 & 1959. Now I need to find a hood and rear fenders. It never ends. Mfg. No. 990154.
