Hello,

Does anyone know if all the hoods (long hood) and grills are the same size between the different sized machines.  Just looking at them, it looks like they are but I want to be sure.  I need a new grill from my Jim Dandy and found a donor from a 24/14.

Thanks!

ETA:  I MAY be able to get the new grill for $53 shipped.  Most of that is shipping (not the seller's fault).  You think that is reasonable or should I wait for one to be close enough to pick it up myself?

If you don't have one now, I can measure mine. Then you can contact the buyer and have him measure his before you commit to making the purchase. Let me know.

The 16 HP Briggs and 18 HP Kohler have different hoods and grills than the other models due to the carburetor location. The hoods are the same except they have a larger cutout.

On epay look for PK parts and find jrhaines from PA. He has lots of parts on there all the time and cheaper than others. Right now is fella parting a blackish looking PK and he is real cheap!  Seems he had a hood too, but take a look.

Since yours is a 1612 with the smaller frame, yours may be different; measure the distance between the bolt holes on each side on yours and I will do the same, to see if it is different.

Thanks for the offers to measure!!  I'm actually headed down to visit my grandpa this weekend so I'll take my old grill and see if they match up to his 24/18 and 16/14.  I can either buy a "new" used one for around $50 or spend $40 to have it repaired (and probably look repaired).  Thanks again everyone!  I'll let everyone know what I find out just in case someone has they same question later.

I measured anyway, I got 13 inches. Hopefully you can work something out!
