motor swap????

I have a Bolens Husky 800 with a S-7D, whats everyones thoughts on putting a S-8D in its place? if i do this what issues will i run into? im a mechanic and great fabricator, but would like it to look completly original. all input greatly appreciated

As far as I know they are pretty much aestetically the same except for the plate on the front and maybe the pulley on the back - much like the S-8D and the TR-10D.

There's not really much of a difference between the two. Except HP
I'm guessing you have a 1963 800 because in 1964 the used S-8D's in them

yes i have a 63 Husky 800 with S-7D, looking at using a S-8D from a Husky 850, dont know what year it is though.

I thinks it would be an easy swap, I want the tractor to look original yet though.

Yeah you should be able to make it look just the same with not much effort
Your probably going to have to move all the wiring thats on the top of the S-8D to where the S-7D's wiring is...
