When I was 5, my family and I went to a tractor pull to watch a family friend. There was one kid in the pull, and right then my Dad lent down and said he was going to get me a tractor. Later that night, he found a 1966 Simplicity 717, my Dad bought it for $100; the tractor ran, and the guy had used it to cut the grass. It was refurbished and despite what anybody told me, I wanted it to be blue! I also wanted it to have "farm tractor" tires on it all around. Right after it was put together, I went for a drive and I scratched the right side of the mower deck up on a rock wall... there is a sticker over it now. :smilewink:

Over the next few years, it got ATV tires on the back and I used it in my first tractor pulls. I used it in a few pulls but after going through two transaxles and an engine, it was retired to yard work. I mostly used it to pull a yard trailer and lawn sweeper; although, it would occasionally mow the lawn when my Dad's craftsman was down.

Of course I still have it! Unfortunately, it has been trapped for over a year now; I have one of those carport tents and it is stuck way in the back, blocked in with tires. There are around 40 semi truck tires in there. This summer, I want to borrow bossman Harry's mini excavator again so I can dig out one hill in my backyard, and use that dirt to fill in behind another hill. Where I dig out the one hill I want to put a canopy, much like the carport tent I have now, but without sides. The reason I want/need another is, because even without the tires, not all of my tractors will fit in there!

Ryan Simplicity must have really liked your blue GT, they painted their 75th Anniversary edition the same color.
