Hello,

it has been a while since my last post- but not visit,

but I thought I'd post these pics of Massey seats (2) I picked up--actually the seller delivered them to my little town, as he was coming to see his son curling in our bonspiel...

shortening it up, cost me $35/ea., they are both brand new(new old stock, I suppose), that he bought 40 yrs. ago to make bar stools out of-but never did.....sounds familiar? lol....

anyway, I do not know exactly what they were meant for, but, I think it is going to look awesome on my MF 10.  The 4 bolts sticking out on the back will get chrome 'acorn' nuts---should look ok?

Sorry, but have to share the whole story,.....first I bought one, he delivered it, as I said, then, get this, my wife said---really, so why did you not get another one fot your little MF 8 ? soooo, before she changed her mind, i phoned to see if any more were available, and lo and behold yes----and the seller says 'my son is in the finals for the second event, so Ill just bring it along'.....

       best buy ever...

and, he says he has one more, so if I know someone is interested????

other than the long story, my other reason was to find out what they were really meant for-----so if anyone knows, please let me know,

thanks,

................and have a good day---i know i did,

zolt

Great seats, I wish I could help what they're off of.

Starting with the 50 and going up thru the 200 series, they had 2 piece seats on everything I've seen. Some fancier, but still more than one piece.

Whatever they were supposed to fit, they sure do look comfy. nice score.

FOUND IT !!!, I got a little fanatical, so I started searching all over, and did find 2 photos---in 2 different ads, of massey 165, in which the seat was pictured. of course only the sheet metal was showing, the cover was rotted off long ago-----but the really cool thing is that my MF 10, is the copy of the 165, except of course in a smaller version, anyway, it will be nice to think that the seat is from the full size tractor------and is in mint condition------

It must've been the later 165's the early ones had a similar seat pan, but the backrest was a separate piece like the 35's, 50's etc.

Anyways, glad you found it, nice to have a mystery resolved.
