When does it show up today?

The sellar said he'd be at my place between 10-10:30 am. He called me at 1/4 to 9 am and said he was two towns over from me (Augusta) and as we talked I realized he was heading in the opposite direction of me. I redirected him and scrambled the jets. My dad was planning to be there at the prearranged time (as I had to be at work) so I called a buddy and he was  a no go so dad pulled things together extra quick and shot over to my place. She's sitting in my drive way as I type.....SAFE AND SOUND. So in the end she cost me $500 and two dozen eggs from our chickens; the sellers wife loves poached eggs so it was a win/win. Not bad I'd say.

Yes I did sleep last night but went to bed thinking about the trip and up early this morning thinking about her arrival.

Give me a few hours to get through today's work load, spend some time with my lovely wife and then I'll see if I can get a quick video of what's happening (or not happening) when she tries to turn over. Thanks for the offer of help.....I'll need it.

I am guessing you are still out there playing with it?

I think you're right Chris. He's spending some quality time with it.

I hope it fires right up for him.

Thats an AWESOME find!  I just found one for sale about a mile from home today.  Has a blade and rear wheel weights on it.  Don't really have the money to spend on it but I really would like to have it!  Don't know what they want yet either though.  Gotta check it out if its still there tomorrow.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

I've been very good. I came home and went straight into the house to spend time with my wife and kiddos. My step son and I will be heading out in a bit to capture some video for you all to start helping me diagnose the problem.

Nope.......no quality time yet. She's in the garage all warm and cozy but I haven't been out yet. I'm pretty sure she won't start right up so you all will be able to put your super sleuth skills to practice.

I haven't done a thorough evaluation but the preliminary hypothesis is in................DEAD BATTERY!

Symptoms:

1) turn the key and get a half hearted attempt at the motor turning over

2) once the half hearted attempt to turn over has ended all I got was a rapid clicking sound

Solution:

I hooked up the battery charger and turned it on the "engine start" mode and turned the key.............the engine started to chug as if she wanted to turn over. NO clicking at all.

I'll leave the charger on for a bit and got back out and try again and report in on the results.

Well.........I got her started! :D  After a quick charge of the battery and a little prodding she came to life. Here's a sneak peak of the maiden voyage.

I've got a choke and throttle problem so I'll need some help. The tractor is running with the choke on full and the throttle up about 3/4 in this video. I've got a video of the choke/carb that I'll post in a bit.

Wow, did you score good on that one. Clean, straight, no oil leaks that I saw-engine or rearend.

That carb looks so clean-like it's been off recently, and cleaned/rebuilt.

The only problem with the choke, is that someone replaced it with a throttle control lever.

If you can live with it as it is, just relabel "On" "Off".

Or buy the correct control lever. Part # 526919M92

Jacks has them.

Sounds like carb idle is set too low. You maybe should download the Kohler

manual here, and go through the steps of adjusting the carb.

Congrats on your find.

Edit

And no rips in the seat :dancingbanana:
