I downloaded the manual for my 1992 Craftsman Gt6000 6 Speed which is 917.255960 (thanks GTtalk) but this manual is for 917.257730 which appears to be a hydromatic. I wanted to know if the manual transmission gear oil needs to be changed. If so what oil is used, what ammount, where are the drain/fill holes located and what is the procedure? If anyone has the manual for this model or can answer my questions I would appreciate it. Thanks, Gizpup.

I would assume that it has to be changed at some point, so there must be a plug somewhere...
But with my limited knowledge in Craftsman's I'll leave this for a Craftsman Guy...

Thanks, MH81 for the manual! The 1st link you sent to me for Craftsman appears identical to my tractor and it shows that the manual has 54 pages. The 2nd link you sent me for the complete manual stops at page 28. Do you happen to have the remaining pages (29-54) for this manual? I am much closer to finding the answer to my question now than I was, thanks to MH81 and GTtalk. If anyone can direct me to the remaining pages I would appreciate it. By the way I got this tractor last week from Craigslist so this is why I have so many recent posts. This is the 3rd issue GTtalk members have helped me with! Thanks GTtalk, GizPup.

Gizpup, No Problem... I found these online, one wouldn't allow me to link but would allow me to download, that's the one I uploaded to GTTALK... I have it showing pgs 1-28. The link I sent first (http://www.craftsman.../917.255960.pdf) skips 3-28, but 29-54 is there... IDK, I guess you'll have to print both of them & toss the duplicates. :D Glad to help

EDIT: I found a program that allowed me to join the 2 & remove the duplicate pages. It's uploaded here: 917.255960 Manual, 54 pages
