Ok wheel horse guys this ones for you! and others that may want to help. Im getting a free wheel horse of a friend of mine. Problem is im not sure of the model (will have pictures of it tomorrow) He says its a 3 speed and had a horizontal 10hp kohler? Only attachment thats there is a snow plow but hey its FREE :D. Now for my question. I have the option to get a 6 speed for a good deal (25$) works well said it was out of a raider 12. Will it fit in place of the old 3 three speed providing theres room? Will I need to modify anything or cut anything? Thanks guys for the input looking forward to my first horse project

Mike, I believe that the "six speed" trans will bolt right up. It's just four bolts. But for $25, you can't go wrong! Wheelhorse calls that an eight speed. 3 forward, 1 reverse, plus high low shift = 8 Joe

It is a direct bolt in.  The cases are identical on the outside with the exception of the hole in top for the hi/lo shifter.

Great deal on the Horse, it's a good gt and you will like it. There were only about 4 years that that combination was avalable, so don't get rid of the 3 speed if you stick the 6 speed in it.

Waiting on picture and hoping that it's a model 1057.

And yes, it is a easy swap..

Wheel Horse called the 3 speed with hi-lo a 6 speed up until 1973,i believe and called them 8 speeds from then on (they started including reverse).Like said above it's a direct bolt in.You may need to do a little minor linkage adjustment but not much.
