Not sure what prompted that. Its that time of year for "cabin fever".

I have a little myself and was thinking the same thing, not about GTT, just work and a few other things. If I thought I could find a better job, I would have started packing a month ago. Too much political BS and crybaby crap for me and everybody at work is men over 45 acting like 12 yearold girls. Not too many CT tech jobs within 200 miles of here and moving is not an option. I could change locations in the company, but the BS would be the same. End of rant.

It doesnt sound like you will be back to read the posts, but if you do ... best of luck in what ever it is that you decide to do next.

Hey tractorman, I have a FREE ____________(insert your favorite GT here)________________?

Darn, thought that might get a response. Anyone know a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who can put our minds at ease on this matter?

Does it have to be a GT? I am working on a 1995 dodge 1500 with a bad miss.. not that kind of bad miss, I cant have one of those 'cause I would then have a mad MRS.

170,000 miles on 2 sets of plugs.  $100 worth of tune up parts later, it still runs like crap. I am ready to blow the damn thing up, but the local authorities frown upon that around here. If TM wants to change hobbies  he can have it.

Side note: I misspelled hobbies with 2 o's. the second option on spellchecker was b00bies

only 2 sets of plugs in 170K? That sounds like its been a pretty good truck// if the body's good it deserves to live... I have seen some injector issues on these and the plenum gasket on the bottom of the intake blow but nothing too serious.. a sensor here or there maybe..

what engine?  I got my 93 Dakota that has a 318 in it that had a dead miss in it when I got it  had a bad #5 injector and the PO crossed the  injector wires for $5 and #7 (back 2 cylinders on driver side) which complicated things just a bit.

It helps having a BOSCH injection place 6 miles away I popped them off and took them in (off the truck) to be tested and found 2 that were bad and the other 6 just in need of new (internal) screens and a good thorough cleaning  total outlay about $130... and having had a few Dodges, I had a set of the same injectors here (used) and took a couple of those in to be checked out.. 12K miles later that truck is still doing great.

that said I wonder what's up with the OP??? or if he'd be interested in taking you up on offer of another project?

I didnt mean to threadjack.

thanks for the info.

#8 plug smells a little gassy. The body is mostly solid, usual rocker rot and cab corners gone. Its my scrap hauling truck with $1000 worth of tires on it, so I hate to let it go for what its worth in the current state. I cant drive 6 miles to buy gas, you are lucky.

I think I will try injectors next, I just hate to throw money at it till I find the bad part. Can this be found with the OBD? I am still an old school mechanic. I can work on the pre 80's stuff all day long. All of these BCM, ICM stuff kicks my ass

to buy gas is closer than 6 miles that's the specialty fuel injection place.

I'd start with that #8 injector.

and I take the blame for the thread jack I started talking about the truck, you just offered it up as a crutch to prop up the OP...
