I have a 1965 Jacobsen Chief Heavy Duty that was my mothers, I plan to turn this tractor into a super plowing/pulling tractor. For the colors I am going with Case power red and IH white. The 7hp Kohler has been replaced with a 65hp turbo charged, Intercooled Runsun Diesel. I need to hunt up the belt gaurd, mule drive and deck. Tires are three rib Double Coin 400-4.80 8 6ply for the front and 6-12 Double Coin 12ply rice/cane lug for the rear. I found Jacobsen front wheel weights 50lbs each and the rear weights are from a Farmall Super M front end 100lbs each. plan on running 5 weights per side. Tell me what you think, I will start posting photo of the tractor soon.

I think I want to see pics of that beast asap!  But for pulling, I don't think rice tires would be what you want????   Seems like the lugs would just bend & fold instead of biting in.

That was my first thought, when I read 65hp.

Sounds like you won't even have to put a plow on, to

turn up the ground.

That sounds interesting. You must be doing some serious mods to the frame! and what are you using for a rear axle? I know it can't be the stock 3 speed. Can't wait to see pictures.

Same here. Your drivetrain will need a serious upgrade to cope with 65 HP.

Won't have to worry about power, just breaking things! This should be fun!

First off sorry for being MIA, I have been down sick. Now on to the beast. I got the engines to fit and the hood now clears the turbo, Beefed up the stock 3 speed rear end. Now I am working on changing from belt to HD roller chain and I have pics just need to scan and up load them.

  • KennyP said thank you
