Been awhile since I have worked on this. I have decided to take it all apart and replace the cam, as I can't think of anything else that could be the problem.Will let you guys know how it works out.

Well, I took the whole engine apart; put a new cam in it and new rings. It runs and starts GREAT now. I guess something was wrong with the cam.

I will throw this in here, even though you found your problem. Somebody else might need it.
Sometimes setting your points with a feeler gauge isn't the best. If in doubt, using a continuity light and set it by the timing marks.

In addition to the things ljsted, I have seen two more. A cracked flywheel at the shaft and a carb screw that was swollowed and interfered w/ the valves. Good lhck.
