Today reminded me why I hate cold....I had two 2" wastewater lines frozen, and one 2" line broke. Probably won't thaw any tomorrow.
10*F this morning with a high of 22*F. About the same for tomorrow, only a high of 15*F forcast.

Heh. I'm from Winnipeg. I have cardboard wired to the grill of my work truck, but it still won't blow real heat out of the heater. The cab of my truck is just above freezing. I strapped a load today and went in for the paperwork, and the girl behind the desk was picking icicles out of my beard. There was a six hour waiting list for tow trucks yesterday.
The low tonight is -30 C. The high tomorrow -25 C. It's been like this, or colder, for a week. We're all looking forward to Saturday when the temperature is going to shoot all the way up to -13 C.
The funny thing is that this isn't even a bad winter. There was one in the late 1990's where it never went above -30 C for six weeks. The coldest day of that winter I was outside trying to get a friend's car to start and when we came back in to warm up the radio said it was -47 but felt like -72 with the wind chill.
The cold didn't seem to bother me so much back then though. Now that I'm middle aged (assuming you believe a man with my lifestyle might live to 96), this kind of cold just hurts, like being beaten with a stick.

We had a winter like that here in 92 (I think it was). It stayed at -30*c for about 4 weeks. We where
building docks out on the ice, all day, every day. Man, did we ever go through a lot of scotch. NO way
I could do that now. I remember, water mains where freezing in town, 6 ft down.

Never got above -11C here today or 12F. It will likely hit -20c tonight which is -4 F. I think the whole east half of North America is getting colder than normal temps.

-4 at home 6:00 AM, -10F this morning at the bank in Remus, Kathy said she hit -12 on her way to work on the truck thermometer. Back down to -3F right now. Sure stirred up some business though, had at least 10 calls for frozen water today. Expect as many tomorrow. Lived in my Carharts all day, they sure can be a guys best friend.

We had single digits with wind chills below zero all day. Yesterday was the same. A bit chilly out there. Feels like winter, just doesn't look like winter.
