cranman, There are a lot of GTs here with AGs on the front. I would say that if you like the looks, then it will be great!

Be sure to post some pictures when you can.

Have seen ag tires rear and front on many garden tractors.

Although I don't have ag's, I do like the look. If you go ag's, by all means post pic's!

Here is a picture of one of mine with the narrow bar treads on front, and 10.50 bars on the back. Hope it helps in deciding for you!

What is that on the front?

It is a 541 PTO Unit. This option was available, so that farmers didn't have to tie up a farm tractor all day to run an elevator or other equipment. The garden tractor was cheaper to run all day then it was a farm tractor.

I have heard that when you put lug or bar tires on the front wheels of a 2wd tractor they work better reversed or put on opposite the rears.???

I have heard that also. I don't like the look of it though so I run the fronts as the same as the rears.

Same here on my Massey with FEL.  Mine greatly improve steering when in slippery stuff.

My thought is that the reversed non drive fronts would then have an improved bite grabbing outwards, while the rears attack in a crosshatch pattern rather than repeating footprint, not that I've mounted mine that way either. maybe?? Just guessing... :smilewink:  Somebody round here's gotta have a more solid answer :anyone:
