I just e-mailed about this to see how much he's asking for it, out of curiosity.  Don't see them very often.

I am willing to bet he will say at least $3K. I have seen a few and there always that price or higher. Maybe he'll surprise you and say a lot less?

I just heard back from him.  He's asking $1500.  That's far below the average asking price I've seen for these.  It's more than I'd pay for one, but that's only because it's not really my thing.  They are neat though and it does seem like it may be reasonably priced when compared to other Hillers.

I just noticed the engine and mount is home made, and nothing like how I have seen them on others for sale.

You're right.  To accomodate the different engine, maybe?

Originals were 2-stroke, were they not?

Hopefully this one wasn't hacked up too bad when it was repowered.

I think you are right. The pictures of most I have seen looked like a 2 stroke engine.

This isn't just a modified Bantam?? Engine sure is low in it, and what's the deal with that Huge flywheel pulley?  Looks kinda like junk with hit and miss you see at shows.  Sure looks just like Bantam to me!

He does say engine was changed from 2-stroke but he had one!

These are smaller than a Bantam.  Stick it in the trunk of your car and go to a show.  It's small enough that they probably could ship it for anyone who is interested.  They have nothing to do with Bantam as far as I know.  I believe these were sold by Sears but I would have to check on that.

Sears did sell them with Craftsman on the grill. You also see them with Yardhand on the grill too. The big pulley is the drive for reduction.

I think they offered a table saw attachment for these that mounted on the hood. There was one for sale in North Carolina last year. I don't remember what they were asking though.
