My brother gets lots of riders in at his scrap yard in Venice, FL.

He called me the other day and said he had two JD'S come in and did I want them. DUH!

I picked up the 318 today and will get the 300 next week. It's a 240 mile round trip and I didn't feel like pulling a trailer.

The 318 has a replacement Linamar LX770 which is the same as the Onan P218 and the engine looks excellent. Oil looks new. we will see tomorrow when I try to start it.

The 300 has a Kohler 341S.

He has several more he was saving for me, but I have enough.

I had to pay scrap price.

sweetness.  I love those 300's because I can afford one.  I love the 318 with power steering.  Congrats.

Scrap prices is great for both of those!  Especially the 318 with power steering.  The 300 is more rare in my parts though, and some search for it just because it's harder to find.

These are the first JD's that have come into his place in a couple of years. They are rare around here also.

Nice score!

My local yard has a tractor "nut" working there, so he gets them all. A while back I saw 3 Sears SS and two diesel Kubota

that he had off to the side, they were all runnable with a jump  :mad2:   :(

Nice score. It's getting hard to find the old 300 series tractors. The 318 is more common here than all the older 300's put together. The 300 is a strong tractor but they also have their problem areas when not maintained. I know where there is a 300 but it's still in use and the owner doesn't want to part with it. Very nice price. You would be very lucky to pick up those 2 tractors for 1000$ here.

They look pretty decent.  The 318 with power steering is one handy GT.  I hope you get them running soon.  I'd be interested how the replacement engine does on the 318.  Good luck

I got the linamar in the 318 running today.  NICE! I'm tempted to put it in my Allis 620 as the cckb is tired. This engine lokks and runs like new.

All the hydraulic work great on the 318. I can't imagine why anyone would haul it to the scrap yard.
