I just bought a Bolens 1886-01 that has an after market front mounted forklift on it.

The forklift was made by Green Mfg Inc. in Bowling Green Oh.

What's very interesting is that the data plate for the forklift has a model number in it: MODEL 17 GT

That leads me to believe that they may have made that for GTs other than Bolens.

Has any one seen a front mounted forklift on GTs from the early 70s?  The 1886-01 was built in 1971, and the attachment was put on it when it was new out-of-the-box by a local Bolens dealership, and was used by them for many, many years.

Allis Chalmers and Bolens had rear mount forklifts in the 60s, but I've never seen a front mount on a GT. Thats really cool. Congrats on getting it.

The only one I've ever seen [picture] had a tarp over it and I couldn't see much.  :smilewink:

That was earlier today and I'm still waiting for better pictures.

Pretty sure Case made one, and I believe Johnson of loader fame also made one, just not sure for which tractors.

So to answer your question I guess that yours was most likely made for others to.

I know Johnson made some forklifts, but I think they might have been rear mounted.

Congrats on a great find!
