well, I have not been on in a while, but since i got my new lapop ill be on more...ok lets get the point, i would like to ask one of you fine poeple on here if someone could take a pic of the variable speed pulley or is there a big washer on the flathead screw?  We, as in my brother and i bought a MF10 and the right side of the pulley screws off the threads when the belt engages...

i know this was brought up by a member about a year ago, but darned if I can find the thread. I think the resolution was proper lubrication and blue locktite. do NOT quote me on that. I'll keep looking.

Glad you got it going! It was because of the great advice here that I was able to make that repair successfully. I can't believe I was mowing in mid April last year only to mow 3 or 4 more times the rest of the year due to the lack of rainfall! Never had another Vari-Drive issue.

Alan, thanks for that find.  I tried looking for it also and couldn't find it.  BUT, I did find DanP making a post in there, and I was associating his handle with that problem, so I wasn't entirely off LOL
