Got the tongue mounts attached and the box painted today. Now it can set for a day or so and dry before I install it. I painted it with the Rustoleum Hammered Silver. I plant to do the wheels with this also,

Just remember, I used a big honkin' chunk of 3/8" plate for the base of the box. Bolting it to the 3" c-channel with grade 8 3/8" bolts. My welder buddy said I shouldn't have to worry about it!

That's next on the list, Daniel. I want to change the hitch out to a Bulldog type.

Then get a lock for it! Need to work a bit more to afford that!

Edit: I forgot to add the security system where the trailer is kept is 5 Rottweilers! Not a friendly bunch either!

Put a pintle hitch on it & that will limit 2 problems... 1: thieves will have trouble hooking to it   2:borrowing "friends" will have problems hooking to it! Tell them you lost your reciever pintle's lock pin key!

That bulldog couple is great. It is what I have on my old worn out trailer that is waiting on a rebuild. IN all the thousands of miles it has been towed not once has it loosened, released, or slipped. there is really no way for it to. When I get around to cutting the pintle off the other trailer it is getting a bulldog. I hate the pintle. It is way to noisy.

As for a lock - I had a Sunday school teacher who always told me that locks only kept the honest people honest, you can't stop a thief. I found that a 12 gauge is a much better deterrent

Daniel, I don't care to pull a pintle hitch trailer.

I've pulled them years ago. You're right, lots of jerking slop. Said then, never again! Ain't about to start now!
