I'm going to an auction tomorrow with the sole purpose of bringing home a Wheelhorse tiller.  Wouldn't mind having the tractor that it was used on either but it's not a must.  I may have to buy the tractor to get the proper set up for the tiller, not sure.  I THINK I have a tractor that the tiller will work on.  The question here is, I'm really not sure what these tillers go for.  From the pics, it appears to be in really nice shape (as is the tractor by the way)  Whoever owned this stuff must have taken very good care of it.  What can I expect when the bidding starts?  I just need a ball park so I know where to bow out if it comes to that.  Below are a couple of pics of the tiller.  The tines are fairly worn even though they still have life in them so the thing was used, just not abused.  Any thoughts?

I paid $100 for one like that with the tack matic hitch adapter about 5 years ago. It was on the side of the road with a sign. I wouldn't go over $150 because you can't test it or be sure that it fits. Spend a little time researching which tillers fit your tractor and what adapters you need. I use a notebook to help my memory. Don't get caught up in bidding fever either. Good Luck to you. A picture of your tractor may help others with coments.

A picture on my tractor wouldn't really help as I'm not sure which one I would mount it on.  It came off of a C120.  I have a 315-8, a Raider 14 and a B100.  Out of those three, the B100 may be the best bet but I'm not sure it would mount up.  It may go on any one of them, I just don't know.  If I can swing it, I'll go for the tractor as well.  That way I have everything I need to till.

Mine is a Raider 9. It looks like my tiller for the 9. Good Luck

Those sell for $200 - $250 around here.
There is a mule drive you will need to run it. Two pulleys on an "L" shaped bracket that goes into the center tach-a- matic mount.
Also, a rather long belt and a spring are required.
I believe it mounts to a rear tach-a-matic under the rear axel.
It should work on any of your tractors.

Joe

p.s. check for broken casting bosses at the bolts that attach the cover piece.

As a followup to this tiller thing, I never even went to the auction.  I came down with whatever has been going around last night and wasn't going to chance it.  Thanks for all the info and I'll keep this thread in mind should I find another tiller.

Sorry you missed out on the tiller.

Sorry to hear you are ill.

About a week before Christmas, I got to feeling sick....had it coming from both ends for about 12 hours, then calmed down....Only lasted for about 24 hours total, but it was a rough 24 hours!

Hope you feel better soon.
