Well, our unit is up and running thanks to a replacement carb, Unfortunately, it was lacking power when called for, so I suspected the governor was not properly set up. I come to find out the spring was broken and kinda 'MacGyvered' into place. I have since found a spring in the shop the makes the tractor function a lot better, but I'm wondering if someone could post a pic/link to a factory stock setup - both the original spring and which hole in the governor arm it should be on as well as a setting for the link up to the carb as I see it has a threaded connector up at the carb. Cheers

This is what my setup looks like right now.

It looks like you probably have it in the right hole.  The farther away from the pivot/fulcrum of the governor arm the higher RPMs you will get out of the engine at full throttle and under a load as your throttle linkage will have the most amount of travel.  Now, whether or not you have the right length and tension of spring in there is another question.  I'm sure if you look up the manuals for your tractor on this site there should be something there that will tell you how to adjust your governor linkage optimally.  What engine do you have in your tractor?

(EDIT:  Here is [most likely] the link to your tractor's manual:  http://gardentractor...-owners-manual/.  There is also a link to a "generic" Large Frame Service Manual that might be helpful? -> http://gardentractor...service-manual/.  Hope one of these helps!)
