Walking in the parking lot of church today our old neighbor came up to me and gave me a picture of my father taken on leave from the Army during WW2 . She said her husband took a lot of pictures of his buddies from our small town and kept them in album . After church we talked a little more , she said that picture and album was all over the world ,I knew my father was in Alaska and Africa during the war . .She said it was in his locker in Hawaii , thinking to myself " that's a nice place to be stationed during the war " then she said he was a Marine at Iwo Jima , he was 1 of 7 from his company that survived 5 of those injured . I don't remember much of my father he past away in 1964 ,I was only 5 . I've been teary eye all day , Al

What a neat gift to give someone. That was very nice of the Lady a very loving gift. As Kenny said scan it and put that one away for safe keeping. I would even move a scan copy up to one of the photo sites for safe keeping. Thank you so much for sharing such a cool time in your life.

Thanks for the great story. It is so easy to take for granted and complain about things these days, things that seem so trivial compared to what your Father and so many others like him endured and still are enduring. It's important to have a reminder to help us appreciate what we have. You are obviously a man your Father can be proud of and that is a great way to honor him.
