Congrats! Sounds and looks to be a great GT!

After seeing your picture of the id plate it looks to me that this is the original paint and color.

Good luck with it I'm sure you'll have it up and running in no time.

Also there is no lift arm like my st. I guess the deck is lifted with the handle on the deck?

Can you make out the model number on the engine?

The RT16T is the only roper I have found pics of that used to be (partly) red and have that specific hood.

I am wondering if you could clarify that model #, t93261ru ? I can't find any hits on that #

I think that's a Suburban hood, painted red.

And yes, the deck is lifted with the handle on the deck.

Interesting. Clearly a Roper tractor, however towards the end of the "Roper Suburban" production, they began using round fenders and "Sears style" nose cones, however by then, the tractors were no longer red. As far as the engine goes, it looks like a BG/MS judging by the oil filter cover on the flywheel side of the frame. I have yet to see a B48M powered GT/18 Six Speed with an oil filter, the only B48M powered GT/18's with oil filters are the Hydrodrive versions. So you seem to have a bit of an oddball on your hands. Nice machine.

Huh, it looks to be a 16 Hp engine, but that tractor model number doesn't come up either.

I agree, odd duck.

Hang onto it, might be an unknown model?

Did the PO have any manuals, etc?

Maybe it is one of those super rare 1974 anniversary Ropers? Pictures I have seen they were all white but maybe they did red, white and blue ones to be patriotic. :usa:

At least someone else has the same model number as yours:

So we pretty much no nothing not even a year? I drove it for 30 minutes or so today. It runs great at high rpm but is rough at idle. Here in a couple weeks i need to get it in the shop and fix a few minor things. Thanks for the info guys. Sent from my GT-P1010 using Tapatalk 2

The link I posted above refers to it as a '72, but who knows if that is accurate.

Did some looking around tonight, still haven't been able to get a hit on any variation of that model #. I did find another pic of something like it.

I will bet you I searched for 4 hours straight last night. All I could come up with is that it is a 16HP engine. I know from Postings that they do exist but there is no info out there!

I haven't seen any with a red hood other than ones people painted red.

I was even considering joining a Roper group, Has anyone checked a group yet?
