My speed above is thru a router on the desktop. This computer is a 2003 model. I'm going to run a test on the laptop which is wireless from the router.

Ping: 21ms
Download: 16.43Mbps
Upload: 3.40Mbps

Real close to the desktop.

It would be close for me too, but with Ryan running Pandora, Skype and playing mine craft, plus all the phones and Karens Nook... Things get bogged down.

OK,speed test showed:
Ping:132ms
download speed:1.55mbps
upload speed:0.52mbps

What does this all mean ?

Oh and at the moment I am connected with ethernet cable.

Ok, just for reference, I am on DSL, which is the high speed version of phone hook-up.

Download, 4.9 M
Upload 0.75M
Ping 59 ms

So, part of the answer depends on what sort of connection you have. I think entry level DSL starts with about the numbers you are using, but I'm not sure. I would talk to my provider about what level of service I am paying for. One thing I've noticed lately about Youtube is that the videos are just plain bigger, and higher def. I'll have lots of issues sometimes with playability unless I switch to a lower resolution. The resolution button is located toward the lower right corner of the screen, you could try going to a lower resolution and see if that help any.
But mainly, I'd talk to my provider about what level of service I'm paying for. Those numbers you posted are low, and if you are paying for a premium bandwidth, you should be getting more.
