Ryan looks good. I made one awhile back and used an old brake drum off my dump truck. No need for concrete.

It was supposed to be 36 inches, but ended up being 36 3/4"

36" sounds like a good rule of thumb. But don't hesitate to vary from that based on your stature. It might be too high if your 5 ft and too low if your 6'8". Make it fit the user.
