Depends on what equipment your tractor has..

Neutral Safety Switch?
PTO Safety Interlock?
Electric or Manual PTO?
RIO PTO cutoff?

What style Briggs is it?? Magneto With W/O points?
What style Alternator or does it have a Starter/Generator? How many AMPS will it put out?

So many little details will determine how to properly wire your machine.

Also, Different switches switch different connections even thought he switches look identical. You have to be careful or you could cook a wire or even worse!

So if you want worthwhile help, you will need to furnish all of the details and even a picture or two can help us help you more..

If you check the Briggs manuals on the site, one has the charging system diagrams. There are 3 different styles if I remember right depending on wire colors and sizes. That wil probably be the first thing you need to figure out. I think they show basic wiring in there also.
