The little wheels on the front aren't in the old sales pics, but they ARE original Bush Hog wheels, as they are identical to the rear wheel. I'd have to guess they were an option. The swivel caster wheel....the swivel joint has no wear to it. I'd say it has been used very little. The tiller has a bearing at least out on one side of the gearbox, but tines have no noticeable wear!
The JB tractor is in decent shape. The rear pto is very tight, but I think in the carrier bearing & not the gearbox. The gearbox has one set of mounting ears broken off, which when the time comes, I will try to weld new ones on....very carefully I might add! 3pt lift cylinder leaks, so needs attention. PTO engagement pedal locked up, but no big deal to fix. Lots of little stuff, but nothing major. I am very pleased with the deal.
The seller said he had a few others nearly begging to buy the tractor, but told them he'd made a deal & I was on my way.

A fella just emailed me about another JBI an hour north of Indianapolis, IN. Told him to find out more info, but I'm out of the hunt for sure myself. Way more to work on than I have time, and I'm flat busted too! lol
I just stole a few minutes before milking tonight to tinker on the newest JB. The exhaust valve was stuck wide open. Pulled the head & valve cover & popped the valve out. Gritty grime was all it was. Someone had been tinkering on it, as the grease was still on the valve keepers where they put them back in. They took a tick too much off the valve end, so clearance is a bit wide, but will be ok. Cleaned all up & valve back in. Carb isn't back on yet, as I have to cut new gaskets....weren't a gasket at all, just gasket goop. Shoddy mechanics! I'll cut new gaskets after milking & start her up if the carb is ok inside. If not, then it's carb clean time. It has had a new carb kit installed for sure, as there are new adjustment jet screws installed. I did however hear her run, but just off little bursts of starting fluid, and she sounded pretty good! No knocks or strange sounds. Hopefully be driving it tonight!

She runs! She drives! She doesn't smoke or knock! After milking, I finished bolting everything back up. She fired the instant I hit the start button! The hydro is fine, works as it should. The steering has a lot of slop, so that will need tended to. Well, a lot needs tended to, but as I said, nothing major, just several smaller things. Man I'm tired though! Last 2 nights not much sleep. The 1st night was anticipation keeping me awake, then the long drive last night. All worth it though. Gotta get me a driveshaft fitted to the bush hog so I can try it out with the JB that I already had. This one is not ready for pto use. Have to check out the bush hog first too. Time to hit the shower!

That is too cool Daniel. If you don't mind me asking, what did the package cost you?

That's great that you got her up and running that fast! You will pretty much have a corner on the market when it comes to bush hog tractors!

With the newest JBI being a ways from using the rear PTO, I put the little 42" bush hog onto my custom JBI. I had a front pto shaft that fit the shaft tube on the mower. I knew the seals on the mower gear case would be shot, but figured to mow a couple minutes with it anyway. When I filled it, I could see good down into it, and things looked super...shiny, not rusty. So I mowed a couple passes behind the shed & was very surprised at the VERY nice job mowing it does.
I am so glad I got this outfit!

Maynard, there's one an hour your side of Indy!
Coldr....don't hold your breath, as it will be next year before I can start another resto. The D4-10 comes first. Till then I can play with this JB though!

Thanks everyone for the compliments & encouragement.

Here's the bush hog on a Bush Hog! Had the hood up for engine pic, and fender box is swiveled to let me out, so looks odd.
