It takes some time to adjust.  Sit down and talk to him.  Find out exactly what is bothering him.  Even though it would hurt for him to leave you can never make a kid feel guilty about something if thats truely what they want(not saying you would do that)

New schools are rough when you are a kid, I was the new kid a number of times.  Its hard.  You leave all your friends, have to make new friends, and I'm sure the culture is really different from what he was used to in AZ.

As much as he was unhappy in AZ he is missing his mom and sisters. He feels like he has abandoned them. We sat for a long time and talked about it last night. He said he will come back next summer. It is heartbreaking for me, but at least I got to spend some time with him.

Hang in there! Cherish the moments you have thus far. He is on the border here and having to make a life changing decision. I can understand his missing Mom & Sis's. Make sure he is more than welcome to return!

Trust me I understand about him being homesick. I left home at 18 and there were times I thought about going back. He knows I want him here, but he has some concerns that I won't go into in public that I completely understand and respect his decision to go back. Even though I am not all that happy about it.

SSPD

Slow start productive day.

I didn't realize how much the tire wrestling match wore me down till I went to bed – and slept straight thru my alarm, 4 missed phone calls and 3 text messages.

I had lots to do

firstcoffee.jpg

I spent most of the morning and early afternoon trying to track down two ST175-8.00 r13 tires for the tow dolly without much success, and trying to get Jared’s mom to tell em the travel plans to get him back to AZ. It was frustrating.

I found two tires showing on Northern Tools website at the store that is in front of the Community college Steph takes classes at tonight. So I gave her the sizes and stock numbers and she went off.

My friend Grady called and needed to get some tires put on his Exploder. He wanted them on the rims that were in my back yard. I told him where to meet me then Jared, Heath and I loaded up and went to the tire shop.

On the way there Steph called and said that Northern had sold those two tires about 20 minutes before she got there.

At the tire shop I mentioned I was looking for tires and he pulled 2 brand new ones out of a pile. Right after I had the flat on the tow dolly I asked him and he said he never got any that size. He has had those for 2 weeks.

SO we left Grady and his wife there and made a beeline back to the house and snagged the wheels and headed back.

After harassing Tony the tire guy till he was about to mount a tire on my head he handed me the impact wrench and told me to put the tires on Grady's truck. Grady wasn't sure what to think. While I mounted Grady's tires Tony got to putting my tires on the dolly rims.

We finally headed home and started to put the tires on the dolly. Of course the lugs had a dose of rust on them so I had to go find the tap and die set and clean the threads. Finally got them mounted and hooked the dolly up to the BlueOx.

Then we used the Hemorrhoid to push the little Ferd Escort we got yesterday up on the dolly to go to the crusher tomorrow. Good thing about it is the owner took most of it apart for us. All I have to do is cut off the and tow it in.

In all this mess I finally got Jareds mom to understand that I had a job to do in Charlotte tomorrow and I couldn't just drop everything and run Jared to his Grandmothers an hour away. She finally got it through her red head and we set a time for later int eh evening.

Right now Jared is scouring the house for all the things he didn't put where they belonged and now he can't find them. I have I feeling that I will be mailing stuff to AZ.

I'm sure sorry to hear about what is going on.  Pain and chaos, chaos and pain.  With any luck, you've established a better relationship than you had, so that is a good thing.

Good but a bit sad day.

This morning rang off the hook while I was trying to sleep in a bit soooooo

Super_3in1Regular.jpg

Then we swung into gear and got outside to finish up the last couple of things that needed to be jerked off the Escort then we headed down to the scrap yard.

When we go there and got unloaded there was an old guy trying to get him money out of the ATM. This yard does not give you cash at the window. They give you an ATM card then you go over to the machine and get your cash. When Steph got out of the truck to go in to get our card he asked her how to use the ATM. I got out of the truck and went over to help him.

The machine has no labels on it just a slot for your card and a little screen that says insert your card. The screen just said 002. I yelled for the manager to come over and he went in to reset the machine. When Steph came out she told him she wanted more money and he reached in his pocket and gave her a nickle. Guess it pays to be cute.

Then we had to run home and drop off the aluminum rims off the car. With that done we hit the road and went to Charlotte.

Traffic was light and we made good time. We stopped to sell some catalytic converters and then headed across town to get another Furd Exploder. It was facing the wrong way on a dead end street that had no way to turn around at the end. SO we pushed it across the road then put a strap on it and pulled it on around with the BlueOx.

With it up on the dolly we started off and immediately there was a problem. The truck was still in gear. Jared went back to the truck and tried every position on the gear shift and it wouldn't come out. So out came the wrenches and the drive shaft came out.

With that done it came along more submissively.

We swung by the cigar shop so Jared could tell Darryl goodbye. I snagged a couple of sticks and we headed home. One quick stop for gas and we were on the highway.

Once we got home we emptied out the back of Christine and loaded all his stuff up in it then Jared and I left for his grandmothers house.

We had a good talk on the way up. It is a hour drive so we had plenty of time.

Almost to her house we passed two guys in a Ford van broken down, but I had to have Jared to the house quickly. His mom had started texting wanting to know why he wasn't there yet.

After I dropped him off and say goodbye I headed back to the guys in teh Furd. They needed a jump. The battery cable had come loose and the battery had died. I told them I could jump them and then looked int eh back of the truck. When we cleaned it out we didn't put the cables back in.

I called his grandmothers house to see if anyone there had some cables and they didn't. He said he would call his wife to come jump him off.

I finally got home right about dark and immediately started to load up the back of the Exploder with the shelving I got this week. With that done I took the alternator off and broke a 3/8 extension then I dropped 4 sockets in the dark engine compartment so I called it quits.

Tomorrow morning we have to get up early, find my tools, then take the Exploder off to scrap, and then go get a Jeep.

I will miss Jared. He will be back for Christmas.

Me too, Willie, but now the boy knows you care for real, and that alone fills a big hole in his life. He'll be back, I'm sure.

Some people need to be neutered for the sake of humanity.

Since I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Friday and I had a lot of stuff to do Saturday I got an unexpected day off. Which was good because I was tired.

SO after

b7be_toxic_waste_mug.jpg

I proceeded to do nothing.

I got about a half a dozen texts and a couple of calls from a guy wanting a mower deck for a Murray. After I finally got his model number, after asking him for it several times (he couldn't understand why I needed the model number no matter how I explained) and confirmed that I have the right one we agreed to meet tomorrow when I am up in Charlotte for him to look at it.

About 4 I got a call from a woman who wanted to sell a Dodge Durango because she had no food in the house. I told her it would take me about an hour to get up there. So we went out and put a tire back on the trailer (kind of seems to be the theme of the week) and we headed out.

The woman texted and called me repeatedly to find out how far away we were. I was getting that old suspicious feeling about her.

When we got to her house the Dodge was out front but no one answered the door. I called her a couple of times and sent her a text then we sat for a while. I finally got a text back that said I sent you a text an hour ago saying we were not interested. I summoned all my restraint to tell her politely that she did not send that to me. Then we went home.

When I got here the mower deck guy started to text me every 5 minutes about the deck. Stupid questions that I answered several times. I finally had enough and told him to read back thru the texts because I have answered them all already and I am turning my phone off and if he wants the deck he can contact me tomorrow.

I really need a dope slap button on my phone or maybe one that causes an electrical feed back and shocks the poop out of the other person.
