That all sounds good, EXCEPT for the livermash. I don't like anything connected to liver! It looks simply delicious!

I am a good cook. I just don't like doing it too much. I lived alone for too many years to have not learned how.

I didn't eat it all myself. Half is still in the fridge for breakfast tomorrow. Steph and Heath liked it too.

William I am much the same way, made many fantistic things, and the kid and wife ask for the recipe.... I reply " Don't really know" and leave it at that.

Got the truck ready for the trip to visit family. Changed the oil, rotated the tires, unloaded work stuff, washed windows, vacuumed ( plugged up the car wash vac oops), rounded up emergency tools. Also cleaned up the yard. Actually saw a couple of snowflakes by the time I came in. Now hopping in the shower, then company is coming.

Nothing major but a lot crammed into a few hours.

In TN with the family. Had a nice bonfire with my Steph, my brother and two nieces while the grand parents spoiled Heath inside where it was warm.

Nice day.

Time for a “I been gone” update.

Saturday morning we packed up the truck and headed off to Georgia. After a nice drive we hit a traffic jam outside of Atlanta.

We were flying

DSCF3972.jpg

Found a cat taking a Christmas trip

DSCF3980.jpg

When we finally got to the head of the line we found that someone in a Mitsubishi Spider had tested the structural integrity of the Armco barriers on  the interstate and wound up in the median in little pieces.

After getting clear of that foolishness we got into Atlanta and found some backroads to get out of traffic and made it to Steph's Grandparents house.

I wasn't in the mood for pictures

Presents got opened,

Great Grandma knitted Heath a sweater

Next morning Heath and Great Grandpa spent some quality time together.

And with Great Grandma too

And of course with Holmes

One more picture before hitting the road for TN.

Finally arrived at my brothers house a few hours later. Gran was a neat guy

109.jpg

I spent the rest of the day with my dad watching old tv shows on Netflix. Steph yammered with my mom and sister in law.

Monday morning Heath was running wild with his Nieces. Steph was still talking. My dad and I drank coffee and watched more old TV shows

My brother closed the office at noon and came home. We spent the rest of the day in the garage talking and doing nothing of great importance while the nieces chased the dogs around the yard. After a while he fired up the grill and cooked pork chops. After dinner we had a bonfire. Everyone but Andy and I went in when it got good and cold. We hung out till the fire burned out then went inside to watch a movie.

Christmas morning presents got opened.

Grammy was good for lots of food

010.jpg

Nieces were involved in the chaos too.

004.jpg

Uncle Andy was a cool guy

014.jpg

The couch was the place to be

032.jpg

Heath discovered he could reach Uncle Andy's TV

Then my dad and I retreated to his living room for more coffee and old TV shows.

Willow was great – but she didn't talk much.

002.jpg

All too soon the truck was loaded up and we were headed back to NC in a light snow. I did make one final stop to look at the old house.

Had a nice drive back. Heath and Steph slept all the way to Knoxville. We stopped at Smokey Mountain Knife Works to look around and let Heath stretch some. Then dinner at Cracker Barrel and we were on the road again non stop to the driveway.

It was nice to sleep in my own bed. Slept for 12 hours. Woke up feeling like I swallowed a cactus.

Tomorrow it is back to work.
