There is a 15' chunk of railroad iron mounted on sawhorses made of heavy pipe in my shop. We used it for changing swather knife rivets--much easier on the back than bending over or kneeling on the cement floor. It also has a press mounted over it and makes a wonderful anvil-beating iron, miscellanious work surface. One man's "what do I do with this" is another man's treasure.

I am bored.

Last night I decided we needed an official Uncle Willie for sale sign. So I made one. I had an old piece of plexiglass that I had kept knowing I would use it for something

box3.jpg

Last night I had to scrub down with an antibiotic soap and was told to not get filthy today. Have to do it again tonight.

So I have been a bit bored all day.

i_tried_being_good_but_i_got_bored_coffe

At about 930 Grady called and wanted to know if I had an air compressor he could use. Since I won't be using mine for a while and I have a small one to air up tires, I told him to come on.

Steph and I ran out and got it disconnected. The shop was in the shade and was actually not too bad.

Grady showed up as soon as we got back inside.

He got the compressor. I got the mailbox we bought a while back. I got it cheap because the door was broken. About 30 minutes of plastic welding later and I had this. ( After a bit of painting too)

box1.jpg

We taped up some stencils on the body of the mailbox and painted house number is bright yellow.

Steph left for the pharmacy to get the prescription the doc called in for me. Antibiotics so I am clean in side and out. Now if they could only scrub my brain.

Then I searched every hard drive I had for a book I started about 5 years ago. I had to take a broken laptop apart and pull the drive to find it. I figured since I will be down for a while there isn't much excuse for not working on it.

Here is the beginning ( and all I could find)

EDIT: removed because of reasons.

So there is that.

While I was searching hard drive I did find a drive with 1531 songs on it. A total of 113 hours of music. Right now Willie Nelson is On My Mind.

Steph got back and brought the body of the mailbox in. I put it back together and added some reflective tape.

box.jpg

Steph went out and mounted it. Now people should not have problems finding my house.

As for the rest of the day. I plan to sit and be bored.

Whenthe  doc said it would hurt worse to day than yesterday he wasn't whistling Dixie.

I did get 6 hours of more or less uninterrupted sleep. Most sleep I have had in weeks.

eastlake_church_celebrate_recovery_mug.j

When I woke up at 7 I had to pee. It took me 15 minutes to even stand up. Things were getting dire by the time I was upright and on my way 4 feet to the toilet. 20 minutes later I was there. it took 15 more minutes to get off the pot.

I took pain meds and laid in bed for most of the day. I made one walk to the kitchen for a pop tart.

The idiot that I drove 1.5 hours to look at his truck called and wanted me to come back. I told him he was an idiot and that was probably why his truck had been for sale for 2 months.

I have had bunches of phone calls to keep me busy.

Hang in there, UW! Do as the DR says for a bit longer! If i take less than 15 minutes, I should have waited a bit longer!

I am exhausted. Just made 3 trips across the house and then Steph changed my bandage. It hurt horribly to have to sit up that long. Tomorrow I will take my pain meds then 30 minutes later change bandages.

Looks pretty good though.

And Alfie has been making sure I have good feeling in my feet.

Sounds like a good plan on the bandage change! Give Alfie an extra ration of tuna! He's probably saving you a lot of tests!
