The trip was not all that bad.

Since I got a late start on Wednesday I drove all the way in to Mississippi before my eyeballs refused to say open. I got to a truck stop and crawled into the back seat. I had planned to sleep in the truck so it wasn't all that bad.

36_1.jpg

I had lunch with my buddy in Pearl then hooked up the second truck and headed off. Things were going great till I got close to Tuscaloosa, AL. The Ox refused to go. I managed to do all of 30MPH on the interstate till I got to Tuscaloosa. By then it was getting dark. I bought a flashlight at Lowes and poked around the truck a while. It was so hot I couldn't touch anything. So I got a hotel room. I needed a shower.

At Motel 6 the girl said she had one smoking room left, but it had a hole in the bathroom door. I told her I didn't care just give me a discount. She gave me an AARP discount LOL. I walked over to the nearest resturant and called my mechanic buddy on the way. He agreed that it was the catalytic converter. After food, a shower, and sleep I felt more like taking on the problem.

When I woke up there was no water in the hotel. They were trying to get it working when I left.

I got out my hacksaw and started the long process of cutting through a 3 inch pipe when I had 1.4 inch stroke to cut. After an hour and a half I had it. I couldn't knock the beans out of the cat, but I did manage to shake it and beat on it. Then I started the engine and it ran. So then I had to find a 3 inch turndown. No one had much 3 inch stuff. I finally found one and was soon on my way. It sounded like I was driving a loud wet fart.

The Ox hit 200k in Goerogia.

I am not sure what time I went to sleep last night, but I woke up at 4pm.

Funny how it's always entertaining to watch all the numbers roll over!  :D   Thanks for the video, because I missed watching my Grand Cherokee roll to 200 grand back 10 grand ago.

Oil pressure has been like that for about 70k now. I have a high pressure pump and no leaks. The mechanical gauge shows the same pressure. It will keep working till doesn't.

Hopefully not on one of those eight lane highways. Just an observation.

Well with no exhaust you should have heard me coming. You should have come helped me celebrate.

I couldn't hear you over my son's exhaust on his bike.

Today is

1348736432_6787_NationalCoffeeDay.jpg

SO I celebrated by drinking lots of it.

It has been raining all day so I didn't leave the house. Spent the day with Steph and Heath. While Heath was napping Steph cut my hair. I was starting to look a bit shaggy.
