I didn't know that, Willie. I guess they have to have safeguards up for all kinds of things nowadays.

Waiting a year is better than forking out a 100 dollar bill for the title....

For some reason your videos make me want to come buy a vehicle with a bent valve!

Great day – almost.

This morning when my alarm went off I was actually already awake. So

ttd.jpg

Then I got dressed and got to work.

Graham came over to help me today which was good because Steph had a doctors appointment and couldn’t go with me.

First we had to get the Dodge Decrepit back up on the tow dolly. So Steph pulled Christine over to the Hemorrhoid and jump started it. Then I hopped on the Hemorrhoid and push Christine back out of the mud. Then I hooked the tow dolly to the tractor and pulled it around front while Steph pulled the BlueOx around. Once the dolly and truck were reunited the Hemorrhoid got the Dodge pushed around front and up on the dolly. Then Graham and I got it strapped down.

With all that accomplished and no one crushed or bleeding; Heath, Graham, and I headed out to get to work.

The Decrepit went to the crusher and then we headed north to Gamewell. We were scheduled to get there at 12 but we arrived at 1145. So I changed Heaths diaper and we hung out in the parking lot of the gas station that the Plymouth Voyager we were picking up. When the people go there we got the paper work done and paid them and they left. We three manly men went inside the store in search of food.

Once we had devoured the hamburgers, corn dogs, and potato wedges we got the van loaded up on the dolly and headed home.

An hour or so later we sloshed in to the muddy yard.

Heath had fallen asleep so Graham and I got out quietly and then got the scrap metal that was on the trailer and loaded it up into the van.

About the time we got finished with that Steph came home.

She helped Graham and I get the van apart and ready to crush, then she and Graham loaded all the aluminum wheels with tires on them into Christine and jump started the Hemorrhoid again ( I really have to get a battery for it soon). About this time Heath woke up and was set free to play in the BlueOx. When Steph backed up to the second pile of tires I knew she wasn't going to be able to pull away.

Once old Hemmy had pushed Christine back to firmer ground Graham and I left for the scrap yard.

We got our money and headed home.

As soon as I pulled in the driveway my phone rang. As I was answering it I nearly slid into the Hyundai. The man on the phone asked if I still had it. I laughed and said yes I am staring right at it.

He said he would pay cash if I pulled it to Gastonia. So we loaded it up and headed out again.

Two miles from his shop the truck started smoking like a house on fire and the transmission started to slip.

I pulled into a parking lot at an abandoned building and took a look. Transmission fluid was pouring out like rain.

I called the guy and told him where I was. He showed up with a pickup and a chain. He hooked up to the front of the Ox and then he towed me to his shop. What I didn't plan was the speed at which he attempted it. I am sure the brakes on the Ox were glowing red by the time we got there because he was trying to pull me at 50 MPH on a narrow road. Twice he nearly pulled me into oncoming traffic. At one point I braked so hard it made him loose traction and smoke his back tires.

After taking 4 years off my life we got to his shop and he paid me for the truck and then I called roadside assistance. Then I called Steph to bring Christine down to snag the dolly and head back home. Then Graham and I walked across the street to a gas station for hotdogs, candy bars and coffee,

An hour and a half later the tow truck arrived. His dispatcher was throwing a fit saying that my roadside assistance wouldn't pay for the full tow and I was going to have to pay $150 extra. I called RA and there was a 5 way conversation between the tow driver, his dispatcher, the RA operator, the RA operators supervisor, and I. After much discussion it was determined that RA would pay for 16.9 miles ( odd number I know). The towing company was saying it was 34 miles to my house. I told them it was about 18. In the end we agreed to check the mileage and then I would pay. The total mileage was 17.2. The tow dispatcher said I owed and extra $10. T he driver said she was a ummmmm..... very un nice woman. I gave him $20 and told him to get a burger on the way home.

Heath was still up when I got home. He was very serious about driving his monster truck.

Right up until I said are you ready for bed. Then he threw the truck down and ran to his room. Took him about 30 seconds to be asleep.

Pulling all those Furds to the crusher is how I wounded it.

Actually i pulled the trans out to check on the rear main while I was doing the transfer case. I have a feeling that I pinched the trans pump seal when I put it all back together.

The important thing here is that no Furds were involved in getting her back home.

At least you can get rid of them there, here in Illinois no title no scrapping period, drive across the river into nearby Kentucky and no problem they take anything.Learned this the hard way as I had 2 abandoned cars on my property when I bought it.
