I need to get some parts for a Briggs and Stratton model 243431 that came out of an Allis Chalmers Big 10. Was wondering where the best place to get parts would be?

Only the first letter of a set will come through as capitol letter. You have to add a space before it will stay as upper case.

I sure wish they would change that. I know it's to prevent people from using ALL CAPS for a topic title, but with so many of our tractors using caps for model names, it makes for some strange looking titles.

It's very rare to see anyone here using all caps anyway.

Maybe we can talk the "powers that be" into diasbling it for a month or so as a test to see if it's really needed.

Back to the original Question...lol... what exactly do you need? I have the same model engine in my MTD Wizard and I so far have been getting them on Fleabay. Do you have a parts manual for that engine? If you tell me what you need, I can look it up and get you part numbers. We are always glad to help.

I just picked up a 1981 Bolens H16XT, twin cylinder, 16hp B&S engine. I went right to Briggs & Stratton and downloaded a parts manual. After that just google Briggs and Stratton xxxxxxx for the part you need. I found the parts I wanted on fleabay and other suppliers. Hard part is sorting through the results to make sure it's the correct part and best price including shipping and handling.

Note, if any of the results are from Sears Parts, just ignore them. If they have the correct part it's the highest price you'll find, most likely it won't even be close to what you're looking for. There are other results like that, you'll learn.

As of right now I need rings and a points style Magnatron. I'm sure other things will come up.
