I drove my 314 to the coffee shop Saturday morning. Never has failed to start.
3 hrs later start to house tractor no start. Starter just clicked. Called my buddy to bring his trailer, brought home.
Removed starter after checking batt, wiring,, voltages. I found both of the brushes on positive were broken from wires. All brushes looked fairly new.
Any thoughts appreciated. Thinking about new starter to be safe.

Did they look to actually be broken, or could they have burnt off? If burnt off, the end of the wire braid would be balled. That would indicate a short and best to replace the starter for sure.
