That surely deserves a vote for the "best of" section on Craigslist.

Oh, that needs some copy and paste action so it is not lost to the CL Gods...

Beautiful Troy-Bilt Mower - $100 (Celina)
3M73Fb3Jd5L15K95J7d3n40f37e47651d1108.jp
Price was $9,500, but this weekend only you can take this beauty home for a paltry $100. Yes, that is a $9,400 savings! I was going to put a lift kit, glass pack exhaust, chrome rims and racing stripes on her but I lost interest. This is a multi-purpose machine... It has new 42" blades spinning underneath that shreds grass, sticks, small cats, etc... It also can pull things such as carts, small trailers or amish buggies. Other uses could include:

1. Boat anchor
2. Nice corner table for living room
3. Centerpiece for your flower garden
4. Pulling in tractor pulls
5. Start your own wrecker service
6. Drive to liquor store
7. Nice prop for senior pictures
8. Excellent prom night vehicle
9. Put on blocks in front yard to bring up property value

If you buy this weekend, I will also throw in a new "What the hell, it runs" bumper sticker! This will surely make you the envy of the neighborhood. This mower is fully loaded, including options like:

Cruise Control with choke
Steel blade engagement arm (pops out sometimes, vise-grips I am currently using to hold in place thrown in for extra $100)
Foot operated clutch
Vinyl seat
Fully pneumatic tires with stems/caps
Gas shut-off valve (I installed this additional option myself because the carb was flooding after it was shut off (with my labor included, I estimate this to add an extra $250 value to the machine)
8-speed Manual transmission with reverse
Electric start
Battery with 8 acid compartments and two posts (positive and negative)

I hate to brag too much about this fine piece of craftsmanship, as I believe the pictures will sell her... If you do not have $100 but just want your picture taken on her, that will be $5 for a 3 X 5.

Her name is Molly, and she has no cover or lights so she prefers to be out only in the daytime and when it is warm.

Email if interested please! Price is negotiable if you don't think I am asking enough...

I hate this guy.  I recognize this tractor from a recent ad in NC.  It was gone within 24 hours.  Now this guy is hoping to triple his money by reselling it.  Bah.

I think the original seller indicated some engine issues, though I can't remember for sure.

Hmmm...  Interesting.  Not sure when he actually bought this tractor from the other seller, but from what you're saying it was fairly recently.  So, he's saying that between the time he bought this tractor probably less than a month ago and the time he posted this ad, he has already lost interest in restoring this tractor and is itching to dump it for a ridiculous amount of money to try and buy a boat? WTF?

So, he bought it for under $300 originally, I'm assuming?  I could see spending $300 on it in the condition it is in, but almost $1,000?  Put down the crack pipe, dude!  Seriously!  It looks like a decent restoration candidate, but it is not fully restored already.  Just out of curiosity though, are those the original front tires for this tractor?  Just wondering because they look really tiny for this machine.  The rear wheels are huge by comparison and they don't seem to fit the overall size of the rest of the tractor I don't think.

Yes, it was listed about 2 hours from me at about 350 over my spring break.  I think I would have purchased it, but I had to install a new heat exchanger for a customer.  It was sold 24 hours after it was listed.  One week later, it showed up for sale about one-two hours north of where it had originally been, with this guy giving his song and dance story and wanting 1000.
