Well a couple of month back I bought a bolens 83 440 from a guy. He also had a bolens 1253 that he got from the original owner of the 83440 I didn't have the money for the 1253 at the time so I said keep me posted on it. Well today I got home and found a letter in the mail. It was the man I bought the snowmobile from he said he bought another bolens snowmobile that was a 340 and needed to get both the 340 and the 1253 out of his yard so he said he would let me have the whole deal for 200 bucks! I dont have pics yet but will put them on as soon as I get them.

Wow! That is a low mileage unit and looks to be in pretty decent shape. Thanks for sharing.

Cool Bolens units. Don't see those too often. Sounds like you are gathering a whole herd of them.

Congrats on your latest finds!

Here's a spec sheet for the 1253: http://gardentractor...bolens-1253-ad/

I think Bolens1000 may have a brochure on the Sprint 340 snowmobile.

I Just Checked All the Brochures and all were produced before this model was made.

Nice Snowmobile. Those old 340s are good old engines and parts are still available for them.My neighbor has a steel bodied Bolens Snowmobile with the 340 in it and 3 Artic Cats 2 with 340s and 1 with 440 jugs and 340 bottom.

I would love to put a 60-65hp AC 340 engine in an old bolens tractor. But those old 2 strokes are loud as heck even with a muffler that's 2 feet long.lol
