Technically, that's an Economy tractor, Power King model. They didn't use the numbers when that tractor was made. If they did, it would be a 2412, not a 1612 because it has 24" rear wheels. Looks like a nice enough tractor, made anywhere from 1965 to about 1972. Tires are backwards but you all knew that. Using the numbers like 1612 and such is common as people just think the number designations were always used. Up until the late 70's when the company changed the name of the tractors to Power King and dropped the Economy label, the model numbers were simply Power King and Jim Dandy. There were only two models in the line up when they were still Economy. Jim Dandys came with a variety of engines from 9hp to 14hp before the switch. If you had a 10hp just simply said "I have a 10 horse Jim Dandy". There is more misconception about these tractors than I can shake a stick at.
