Quite simply "the people". I came here because I bought 2 Massey Gt's a little over a year ago and I needed someplace to ask questions and get more info on them. I'm a pretty die hard IH guy and didn't have much of a clue on the Massey's. I knew within one evening and about 3 post's that this place was full of very down to earth good people. Nobody cared that I didn't know things about them and my questions were ALL answered in a civilized manner and I wasn't redirected to the archives to find it for myself. I felt more welcome in one evening of post's then I did after years on some of the big tractor sites I hang out on. I have since made this my most frequented website that I check on a day to day basis. I have had the privilege of meeting George, his dad, Alan, and several others at a local plowday this spring and I got the same reception from them in person as I did online. It's just a great place to hang ones hat and have a good time while learning along the way.

I just like the atmosphere! Even if this site just had the "off topic" section and there were no mentions of GTs I would still love it here!

Is there any such place???

The atmosphere is great. And nobody is hiding behind a screen name to make life rough for others. The members get to meet from time to time, so it is more than online talk. I have enjoyed meeting some, but there are so many more I would like to meet. Thanks George for giving us a place to hang out.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say that. David Brown is not my name, it's my screen name. David Brown is actually an English made tractor that Case eventually bought out. Neighbor used to sell them and I liked them, hence the name. Sorry to ruin your rosey view of the membership. Not designed to make life rough at all, just liked the machine and borrowed the name.

The first tractor I got to run was a David Brown, nice tractor and good memories. I guess I should have made it clearer in my post. What I meant to say was with members getting to meet in person it is more like writing to friends. As for a rosy picture, we have to remember to take it as it comes.

This is true. And I didn't think "shorty" was your real name either.

No, not my real name but one that was given by a coworker. It stuck and I thought it was a good way to start here.

I was wondering how long it would be before you said something about it! Lol. I am surprised nobody asked why I address you as Jeff! I guess the secret is out now...

I just look at it as a screen name like everybody elses to be honest. People call each other by screen names all the time if they don't know the person's real name. I guess that with a screen name that is actually a real name, I probably should clarify but I figured it would come out eventually.
