I just remembered I do have a vertical shaft engine. It's on my MTD mower. Forgot all about that one. And it leaks just like yours. :bigrofl:

This engine is off a MTD or Huskee can't remember. I did a re-power back in 2009, as the orginal engine was shot.

I think they could have used a few more pullies. kind of a PITA getting the spacers sized correctly so the pullies line up. I am trying to use one spacer instead of mutipul washers. So far so good.

Weekend update. I think I have all the parts identified that I need to order.
For the deck; the LH Plastic Belt Guard, LH Runner Skid, and one Idler Pully. Less than $50.00.

For the Engine, Complete gasket kit, (As you can see there is oil seepage from the Oil Pan, and Govener and lower seal. I also plan to pull the heads and de-carbon. if the lower seal is not included in the kit, I'll order seperate, and a Starter gear.
For the steering, a couple brass bushings to replace the plastic ones on the cross shaft. This is the only area I see movement "slop" in the steering components.

I already picked up 12 cans of RED, and 4 Black paint.
