This is just my opinion of Black Friday....it IS however very true and to all of those that DO this insane event, just be careful. I have seen it get as brutal as an elderly woman actually pepper spraying a younger child that was shopping with her mother over a DVD player.......its disgusting

What I don't understand,is how Black Friday became associated with shopping, and sales.
Black Friday happened on September 24,1869.That was the day of the monster stock market crash.

It refers to the retailers having good sales numbers, and getting out of the red, into the black.

It also seems to be the prevalent mood of anyone who has to work today.

I went one time, and NEVER again! There are no 60%+ off sales on GT's or attachments, and even then hardly any true GT's made now anyway.....that I can afford even with deep discounts. No thanks, I'll stay home!

Last night as I rode home from the family feast, I happened to pass by a local strip mall with a couple big retailers there. There were ~75 people outside in line at the electronics/ appliance place at 9 PM . I rode past, shaking my head the whole way. :rolling:

I went out at 4:30 am just for my dogs! 30% off dog food and $8 dog beds and home by 6:15. It was not all that bad. We have dog food now until spring!!

It's even spread up here to Canada. Even though we celebrate Thanksgiving in October retailers have latched onto the hype from south of the border and are promoting BF sales.

I happened to be going by a local Walmart last night. The entire parking lot was full as well as the surrounding business lots and streets, Hundreds of people waiting in snake lines and the store was OPEN and had been so for hours I was told. There were several security guards and police on hand. A friend told me it was almost the same at Kmart across town.

I read the sale adds yesterday. I found nothing I would wait in any line for. You would have thought it was free.

I hope i dont offend anyone here, The whole thing is insane to me. A big part of the reason I shop at Kmart.

If you do the layaway and something goes on monster sale, they will correct the layaway for the sale price.

The wife didn't leave until 7:30 but I stayed in a nice warm bed a little longer.
